WASHINGTON — The Rolling Stones are giving baseball fans a unique way to support their favorite team. To celebrate the band's legacy and their iconic shows at baseball parks across the country, the Stones and Major League Baseball are teaming up to release limited-edition vinyl of the new album "Hackney Diamonds."
The designs are extremely limited and include unique designs for each of the MLB's 30 clubs, including the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles. The album itself is pressed on baseball-white vinyl.
The Rolling Stones and MLB have a long history together. In 1989, he Steel Wheels Tour came through North America, playing half the dates at the homes or previous homes to baseball teams, including RFK Stadium in D.C.
The special MLB albums are available for preorder exclusively on the Rolling Stones' website.
"Hackney Diamonds" is the band's first studio album of new material since 2005. It features collaborations with the likes of Elton John, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga. Late drummer Charlie Watts is featured on two tracks, including "Live By The Sword," which also features original Stones bassist Bill Wyman.
"Hackney Diamonds" hits store shelves on Oct. 20.
