ROCKVILLE, Md. — You get a puzzle, you get a puzzle, and you get a puzzle!
Oprah has named a DMV-based toy company on her Favorite Things holiday gift list for 2023, and this isn't the first time it has graced the lineup. Puzzle Huddle, a Black-owned small business from Rockville, Maryland has made the list for the second time within the five years since it launched.
The list was announced on Oprah Daily, as well as in the winter issue of O Quarterly, which this year was full of inspiring small businesses in Amazon's store from across the country.
Oprah's list is known to be a must-have holiday shopping guide, and specifically Puzzle Huddle's Shapes and Learning Floor Puzzle graced the list.
“Designed with imagery to help identify shapes, including stars, moons, and more, this puzzle will charm the 4-to-7-year-olds in your orbit,” Oprah said on OprahDaily.com about the chosen puzzle.
The company was developed when its founder and father of three Matthew Goins became frustrated with the lack of diversity shown on commercially produced puzzles. He then began finding images and hand cutting puzzles at home with a pair of scissors. Which is how Puzzle Huddle was built, which has grown to produce t-shirts, blankets, and more.
