WASHINGTON — Walking isn't the only way to enjoy the cherry blossoms in D.C. There are many ways to see the beautiful sight – by boat or by bus.
D.C.'s iconic cherry blossoms are expected to reach peak bloom this year sometime between March 23 and March 26, according to the National Park Service. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is from March 20 to April 14.
If you are looking to set sail, there's a "Cherry Blossom Cruise" down the Potomac River starting on March 26. It includes a D.C. history lesson and you'll be able to see the Kennedy Center, Roosevelt Island, the Washington Monument and others during the 45-minute experience.
If you're looking for a more private, longer boat tour, EmbarkDC offers 90-minute cruises from multiple docks in D.C. You'll also get a glimpse of the iconic monuments. The Jefferson is also offering a "Blossoms by Boat" package, which includes a two-night stay and the boat tour.
If boats aren't your thing, there is a bus tour to admire the cherry blossoms from April 12 to April 14, just in time for the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on April 13. There are three departure options from Connecticut. The tour includes a stop at the Arlington National Cemetery and George Washington's Mount Vernon.
