WASHINGTON — It's time to channel your inner artist. The National Cherry Blossom Festival's outdoor music and art extravaganza, Petalpalooza returns Saturday at the Capitol Riverfront.
The free, all-day festival features music, art and springtime activities for the whole family. It offers three main stages for live performances and five interactive zones.
A fireworks show scheduled for 8:30 p.m. over the Anacostia River will conclude the evening.
Parking is limited and there will be several parking restrictions and street closures put in place ahead of the festival.
The following streets will be closed to traffic, with no parking allowed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 8:
- 3rd Street from Tingey Street to Water Street, SE
- 4th Street from Tingey Street to Water Street, SE
- 4th Street from M Street to Tingey Street, SE (southbound only)
- Water Street from 3rd Street to Tingey Street, SE
Anyone visiting is encouraged to not to drive. Instead, it's recommended to use an alternative mode of transportation such as Capital Bikeshare, DC Streetcar, Scooters, DC Circulator, Metrobus, and Metrorail to get around the most efficiently.
