'Tell Me Everything' Maryland woman creates journal for mothers and their daughters

The mommy and me journal, designed by Sugar Taylor and her daughters, is a judgement free zone to share or ask anything.

WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Sugar Taylor is a local creator, entrepreneur and mother. Taylor lost her birth mother at a young age, but before she passed, her mother found special ways to communicate with her, by writing letters.

"She gave me her life advice. She knew she wouldn't be around to impart certain things on me and I wanted to share that experience with my daughters in a way where I wrote to them, they wrote back to me and they told me everything about their lives," said Taylor.

Taylor says the analog messages and wisdom her mother left behind, are something she will cherish forever. Those messages are what inspired 'Tell Me Everything' a journal Taylor created with her daughters Anna, Skye and Phoenix.

"She gave me a lot of advice she wouldn't be here to give me and to have that in writing and to even have her handwriting is really important, they're very special to me," said Taylor.

The journal includes writing prompts and free pages for unfiltered responses. Taylor shares a separate journal with each of her daughters.

"When I am gone one day, they will have this forever to pass down to their children. Hardcore proof that I existed in my own words, with all of my wisdom in writing. I wish I had that with my mother," said Taylor.

The family also created a gender neutral 'Tell Me Everything' journal for parents and their children.

In an interview with WUSA9, Taylor says in addition to passing this physical journal down to her kids, she hopes to share a legacy of entrepreneurship and teach them how to be businesswomen. Her daughters helped her create When in Roam, a 'brick and mobile' retail truck you will soon see at different festivals and pop ups around the DMV.

Many of the inventory for sale in the truck will be items Taylor and her daughters have designed themselves.
