WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. is celebrating it's 10th anniversary on today at the famed distillery in Purceville, VA. Attendees can enjoy live jazz music, southern inspired bites, craft cocktails, and an intimate Q&A with founder and general manager, Scott Harris.
In honor of the distillery's 10 year anniversary, here's their take on the classic Mint Julep cocktail.
Colonial Mint Julep
Ingredients
6 mint leaves, plus additional for garnish
½ oz brown sugar syrup
Crushed ice
2 oz Roundstone Rye
Directions
Muddle the mint in the bottom of the glass, add the syrup and whisky, stir, and add crushed ice and more garnish mint.
