Washington, DC (WUSA9) — Colder weather means time for stews, pot roasts, and hearty meals that fill your kitchen with aromas. But you don't have to spend all day over the stove to get a delicious meal on the table. Bob Evans has a great recipe for the classic Shepherd's pie dish for any busy weeknight.
Ingredients
4 oz pasteurized prepared cheese product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn or whatever combination you prefer)
1 cup beef gravy (homemade or your favorite store-bought brand)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Brown meat in heavy ovenproof skillet; drain any excess fat.
Stir in frozen vegetables and gravy.
In a large bowl combine potatoes and cheese. Spread over the meat mixture.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until heated through and lightly browned.
Serve with a fresh green salad and enjoy!
