Job Fairs are a great way for job seekers of all levels to be seen by many different companies at once, but it can also mean you are competing with many seekers for few positions.
Margo Dunn, President of Women in Technology (WIT) and Cristine Gollayan, committee chair for WIT Job Fair say the key to a successful Job Fair search is to make sure you stand out from the crowd. But how do you do that? WIT offers tips to getting the most out of job fairs.
- Pre-register and upload your resume for employers to review ahead of time
- Review the list of exhibitors and check their current openings so you can tailor your pitch.
- Have several printed copies of your resume. If you happen to run out, have a copy readily available on your phone or tablet.
- Where something that is appropriate for a job interview but could help you stand out an dbe remembered like a brooch or a unique pin on your blouse or blazer.
- Remember to Be Yourself! The more you are yourself, the more confident you feel!

WIT hosts 2 job fairs a year. Their Fall Job Fair is September 26th at Valo Park in McClean, VA.
