Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville is brewing up your day

They might give Starbucks a run for their money. But you didn't hear it from us.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — When we get the chance to talk about the great things in our community, we can go on and on.

One of those great things is a small coffee shop located in the town of Hyattsville, Maryland. It's called Vigilante Coffee Company, and they might give Starbucks a run for their money. You didn't hear it from us though.

The coffee shop's Hyattsville location was originally meant to serve as a wholesale distribution center. But, when the roasted coffee smells traveled through the community, people would stop by and ask if they had any coffee. So, in a blink of an eye, they decided to turn that location into a coffee shop and wholesale distribution center.

When you walk in, the ambiance gives you small, urban, and hip cafe feel with love from the community that surrounds it.

They brew their own coffee in house, host collaborative coffee events for the community, and they even have a skate shop.

"All kinds of people come in here. It's really good to see people from the community, near and far, families, all kinds of people working and hanging out and stopping by,"  Andy, Vigilante Coffee Shop General Manager said.

Vigilante Coffee Company

WUSA9 had to check out what was brewing up at Vigilante's Hyattsville location. So, the Get Up DC team held our first 'Get Up Meet-Up' of 2020 there and it was epic.

The coffee company also serves fresh grounds from different parts of the world such as Africa, Asia, and Central America.

Vigilante Coffee has another location in College Park, Maryland and a pop-up shop in Eastern Market, D.C.
