Animal Trainer Brandon McMillan (CBS's 'Lucky Dog') and Los Angeles Councilman Bernard Parks Will Also Appear As Part of The Daytime Drama's Three-Day Animal Rescue Storyline April 30-May 2

Multiple Emmy Award-winning television icon and animal rights activist Bob Barker will return to CBS Daytime in a guest-starring role on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL on Wednesday, April 30 (1:30-2:00 p.m.), on the CBS Television Network, when the daytime drama features a three-day arc about animal rescue. This will mark Barker's second appearance on the show. His first was in March 2002.

In Barker's cameo role, the long-time animal rights supporter is interviewed by Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) for a feature article on the issues surrounding control of the pet population. 'Animals can't speak for themselves, they depend on us to protect them,' Barker explains during the scene.

Bob encourages Liam to visit the local animal shelter and see firsthand the work that's being done to save homeless animals. Liam takes the woman he loves, Hope Logan (Kim Matula), to the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter where they are greeted by Brandon McMillan (Animal Trainer and Host of the CBS Saturday Morning's LUCKY DOG) and other volunteers who share inspirational stories of people involved in animal rescue. While at the shelter, Liam and Hope connect with Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks, who tells them how to raise awareness and educate the community about ways to give animals a second chance. Parks was instrumental in the construction and rehabilitation of animal shelters in the city of Los Angeles in 2000.

'In keeping with our commitment to spotlight real-life Los Angeles heroes, we are focusing this story arc on the work of animal care and rescue in our city's shelters,' said Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley Bell. 'Having iconic TV personality and animal activist Bob Barker on the show is an honor. Bob is a highly respected advocate for animal rights and is an instrumental player in the storyline. Additionally, Los Angeles City Councilmember and former Police Chief Bernard Parks guest stars in a cameo role. Mr. Parks traveled on location with us to the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter, a remarkable facility for the care and rescue of animals that he was instrumental in building in his district. Both of these men are true heroes, and I am pleased that they are representing this important issue on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.'

The storyline inspired three adoptions by CBS Daytime talent and staffers: actor Scott Clifton (a cat he named Walter White), THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL stage manager Laura Yale (a dog she named Molly) and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL Supervising Producer Edward Scott and his wife, actress Melody Thomas Scott of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (a dog they named Reilly).

Barker, who hosted THE PRICE IS RIGHT, television's longest-running daytime game show from 1972 to 2007, is well-known for signing off each day with the quote, 'Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.' His activism includes groups such as the United Activists for Animal Rights and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
