WASHINGTON — Slide on your checkered Vans and get ready to relive your punk rock glory days because the Vans Warped Tour is coming back in 2025. The tour was shut down in 2018, but was revived in 2019 to celebrate 25 years. Now, three two-day festivals have been announced to mark three decades of punk, pop-punk, emo and ska.
The Warped Tour will make stops in Long Beach, California; Orlando, Florida; and right here in the District. Lineup details have not yet been announced, but the weekend event is scheduled for June 14 and 15 at the Festival Grounds at RFK Campus.
Founder Kevin Lyman told Rolling Stone that the lineup would include a mix of past Warped Tour bands and new artists, with about 70 to 100 bands performing. Some notable performers from years past include Blink-182, Paramore, NOFX, Green Day, Rancid and others.
Other bands like Less Than Jake, Motion City Soundtrack, Simple Plan, Reel Big Fish and Anti-Flag became Warped Tour mainstays with 10 or more performances each.
Some other festivals have emerged to fill the punk rock nostalgia void since Warped Tour's departure in 2018, such as the When We Were Young in Las Vegas this weekend. General admission tickets for that festival start at $325. The HFStival made its comeback to D.C. earlier this year.
Two-day general admission and VIP tickets will go on sale on Oct. 24 at noon eastern time.
