State of the Union expected to cause traffic delays for fans heading to the Burna Boy concert

Fans driving to the Burna Boy concert are being asked to give themselves extra time and consider alternative routes.

WASHINGTON — If you’re driving to the Burna Boy concert at the Capital One Arena on Thursday, expect delays.

Monumental Sports issued a statement on Tuesday, warning concertgoers of the delays. The President of the United States is expected to give the annual State of the Union on Thursday, March 7, the same day as the concert.

The speech will take place at the U.S. Capitol, which sits less than ten blocks from the Capital One Arena at 9 p.m. Given the magnitude of the event, the U.S. Capitol Police have announced street closures in the area.
