April 30th marks the last day of the month. And while that's common knowledge for most, for the Internet, it has a completely different meaning, because guess what?:
"It's gonna be May."
For years now, a meme bearing singer Justin Timberlake's face circulates with the saying around this time at the end of April. But this year, the singer himself poked fun at the Internet tradition, tweeting "Everybody… It is ACTUALLY GONNA BE MAY!”

Probably not, right?
— Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) April 29, 2016As to how April 30 became an unofficial holiday -- along with May 4 for Star Wars fans or Oct. 3 for Mean Girl fanatics -- it's all thanks to pop culture. Around 2012, various riffs on the meme with Timberlake's face popped up thanks to an often misheard lyric sung by him during his 'N Sync days.
And while the meme will re-circulate for years on end, it's good to know that Timberlake is taking it all in stride.
Happy April 30!
