ET has learned new details with regard to Chester Bennington's tragic death.
Just one day after the Linkin Park singer was found dead at the age of 41 on Thursday, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office tells ET that his death was reported as a suicide by hanging. The final cause of death is pending following an autopsy.
According to the coroner's office, Bennington was found hanging at his residence by an employee in the upstairs area of the home. Before he was discovered at 9 a.m., he was home alone.
ET has learned that there was no evidence of drugs at the scene, but there was a partially emptied bottle of alcohol in the room where his body was found. Bennington did not leave a suicide note at the scene.
