Liam Payne may be taking his musical journey in a different direction, but he'll never forget where he came from!
Just three days after Payne announced he had signed a solo record deal with Capitol Records UK, the 22-year-old singer took to Twitter to celebrate One Direction's six-year anniversary.
"Very late to the party but wow six years of us!!" Payne tweeted on Sunday. "Still so many more to come I've never been part of something so amazing."

Fans were quick to comment on his gracious post, writing things like, "Keep making the world a better place," "So proud of you," and "better late than never!!!"
The band's actual anniversary was on Saturday, with Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson all sending out tweets to their fans thanking them for their love and support over the years.
"Six years. I have no idea how to say thank you for all your support," Styles, who reportedly signed his own solo contract with Columbia Records last month, shared. "For everything you are, and everything you've done, thank you."

Fans were patiently waiting to see if former member Zayn Malik, who quit the group last March, would speak out, but unfortunately, he was silent this weekend.
Despite Payne's decision to go solo (for now!), the British heartthrob assured his fans that One Direction will "always be my home and family."
"I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings," he added.
