Kevin Hart shared a photo on Instagram on Tuesday, showing him alongside co-stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jack Black and Karen Gillan in Honolulu, Hawaii.
"Day 1 of shooting 'Jumanji' is officially in the can. We had a amazing first day," wrote the 37-year-old actor. "The chemistry & energy of our cast & crew was beyond amazing!!!! This movie is going to be dope as hell... Can't wait to get back to work tomorrow @therock@karengillanofficial & jack black!!! #Jumanji"
The shoot commenced after Johnson had the production blessed by a Hawaiian priest last week in a ceremony intended to bring good luck to the film. The Ballers star shared footage of the "extremely powerful" moment on Instagram.
Johnson has previously stated that the film, directed by Jake Kasdan, is a continuation rather than a remake of the '90s classic, which starred the late Robin Williams.
The 44-year-old actor has also vowed to honor Williams and his beloved character in the film, slated to hit theaters next July.
"You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of Alan Parrish will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of Jumanji in an earnest and cool way," he wrote on Instagram in May.
