"Right now, I'm feeling pretty devastated," Ellen Page told ET as she promoted Into the Forest, one of two new films -- the other being Tallulah on Netflix -- released in late July. The actress had just returned from a trip to Orlando, Florida where a gunman killed 49 people at a gay nightclub on June 12. It is the worst mass shooting in American history and the worst act of violence against the LGBTQ community.
Page was in Orlando to film a special episode of Gaycation, the Emmy-nominated docu-series that sees the actress and her best friend, Ian Daniel, travel the world on a personal journey to explore LGBTQ culture.

Focused on the aftermath of the shooting, the episode features interviews with survivors as well as friends and families of the victims struggling to find a way to move forward. But not all hope is lost, as the community comes together in unexpected ways. In the teaser, Page is seen overcome with tears as she and Daniel sit down with individuals impacted by the tragedy.
"Being in Orlando, it is beautiful to see people unite in such an incredible way," Page said, still emotional about the experience. "It just makes me so sad that something like this has to happen for that to happen. It just makes me sad that it's not a given to give equal right to everyone. Hopefully this will help the conversation move forward but I wish it didn't take things like this happening."
Gaycation Presents: Orlando will air on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on Viceland, two weeks before the series returns on Sept. 7 with season two.
