Watson, 26, gave off gothic vibes in the chicest way possible while attending the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit honoring Tom Hanks in New York City. The Beauty and the Beast star owned the room in a sleeveless draped KITX dress with an asymmetrical hem, which she paired with strappy black sandals and another trendy piece -- the '90s-inspired black choker.

Her updo also helped take the look from punk to pretty, as the perfectly loose tendrils allowed the dress to stand out on its own. Bold brows and a nude lip completed her natural beauty look.

As for Stone, she showed just how versatile velvet can be when she stepped out on the opposite coast for the AFI Fest Centerpiece Gala screening of her new movie, La La Land, in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old actress showed off her fun satorial sense in a Giorgio Armani Privé top and center-slit skirt that featured blue-and-black embellished silk jacquard detailing at the shoulders and peplum waist. She accessorized with Jimmy Choo heels that looked very similar to Watson's and Anita Ko earrings, finishing her look with a low ponytail, black eyeliner, and a peachy lip.

ET's Carly Steel spoke with Stone on the red carpet, who was happy to be premiering the movie at such an iconic L.A. location as the TCL Chinese Theatre. "It's pretty wonderful," she admitted. "It's very exciting."

She also noted that working with Ryan Gosling again was lovely -- even if it meant bringing one of his worst auditioning experiences to life on the big screen. "It was wonderful. I hesitate to say that, because it's a pretty brutal experience, but it was nice to know he'd been through something maybe productive in some way," she told ET. "Cathartic."

The first La La Land trailer dropped earlier this month, and it showcases just what a dreamy duo Stone and Gosling are on the silver screen. Check it out in the video below.
