ATLANTA — Yes, you read that correctly. Atlanta-based fast-food chain Chick-fil-A has decided to dip its toes into streaming entertainment by launching a new app called Chick-fil-A Play.
Will it work? Who can say?
The company plans to launch the free service on Nov. 18, offering families the "ultimate digital ‘playground’ featuring fun and unique content made to be shared both within the app and in-person."
What will Chick-fil-A Play feature?
According to the company, Chick-fil-A Play will include:
- Kid-friendly podcasts
- Games, jokes and conversation starters
- E-books and interactive stories
- Original animated shows
Is Chick-fil-A making shows?
Yes, according to its release, the company touted its new original series, "Evergreen Hills. " A trailer is featured below. There will also be animated programming featuring the Chick-fil-A cows.
In a statement, Chick-fil-A's executive director of brand strategy, Dustin Britt, noted the app will act as "a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘Play’ for our Guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.”
The company also noted that it plans to launch more content on the app in 2025.
