MCLEAN, Va (WUSA9) -- It's no secret to locals that Tyson's Corner seems to always be going through some sort of transformation or renovation. And your right, but this one takes us up 17 stories to the Tower Club of Tyson's Corner.
Tower Club has been undergoing a multimillion-dollar makeover, including a new bar and grille called the Crescent Lounge. The lounge is sleek, stylish and has breath-taking views of the city. The view alone makes you feel like your some place special.
The Crescent Lounge scene is filled with executives; a good amount of which are all young executives under 40, the kind that enjoy an aged scotch and cigar on the Lounges patio.
Kara Carmichael, general manager of the Tower Club, explains that the Lounge is to bring people together, to make business contacts and rub elbows.
The lounge also has charging outlets at the bar and on communal tables, so have no fear of missing out on business calls if your phone dies.
Just a few steps away you will find a fine dining area called The Reserve. The Reserve is upscale and is known for their wine. They have a unique selection and even a few rare gems that can't be found in or near the city. Which leads me to my favorite features of the Reserve-an elegant wine wall and a display of five wine decanters that will pour your choice of more than 200 varieties of wine. Now all I need is a date, or a membership to the Tower Club.
The club provides different types of memberships but also provides members with a very intimate and sincere experience. Members come to the club because it is their office away from their office. It's a great space for small meetings (yes, they have rooms for that) finish up some work, or impress your boss with your classy taste in lounges.
The entire makeover should be complete by mid March and will also feature wireless workspaces, a new lobby, outside dinning space, as well as new carpet and walls in most rooms. The Club also doubles as a wedding venue; the club has already booked 26 weddings for 2015.
