WASHINGTON — Melissa is a freelance reporter at WUSA9. She also covers the Ravens and was the first woman on the Ravens Broadcast Team.
Before coming back to the area, she lived all over the country covering pro, college and high school sports in Wisconsin, Alabama and Maine – where she worked at our sister station, WLBZ in Bangor.
Some of her favorite assignments include the 2013 Kick Six Iron Bowl, 2020 Rose Bowl and countless Aaron Rodgers’ Hail Mary’s.
Her most memorable story was the kidnapping and murder of a 13-year old girl in Bangor, Maine. She interviewed the murderer and her reporting helped lead to his conviction.

Melissa is committed to mentoring young sports reporters as the Vice President of the Sports Task Force of the Asian American Journalists Association. She has won a Murrow and several AP awards for her work.
