WASHINGTON — Makayla Lucero graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in meteorology. From there she moved out to East Texas where she reported on everything from extreme heat to tornado outbreaks.
From Texas, Makayla kept heading East. She made a stop in Jacksonville, Florida, where hurricane season brought multiple named storms directly over her area.
Though Makayla has lived all over she calls Denver, Colorado, her home. When she visits, she loves to spend time with her parents, two older sisters and her niece! She also enjoys walking through her favorite mountain town, Estes Park.
Outside of work Makayla can be found running, powerlifting, and reading. She is also a big fan of breakfast foods and is on the hunt for a new favorite breakfast spot.
