WASHINGTON — Alexis Wainwright is an Emmy Award-winning journalist originally from Prince George’s County, MD. She is excited to return to her hometown and be involved in the community she grew up in.

Before returning to the DMV she was a reporter and traffic anchor at CBS Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Alexis is an active and creative live reporter who goes the extra mile to always make her content innovative, effective and impactful. She gets to the heart of every story.

In Arkansas, she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at KARK in Little Rock, AR. Alexis was nominated for an Emmy for her continuous coverage of protests following the murder of George Floyd and also for her captivating reporting on a historic snowstorm.

From chasing breaking news, to presenting exclusive feature stories, Alexis is always committed to being a leader in the market throughout the different regions she’s covered.

Before coming to the South, Alexis worked as a Reporter for WJAC and WATM in Central Pennsylvania.

She attended grad school at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where she was a freelance reporter for multiple stations across the country. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
