WASHINGTON — Hundreds of people gathered at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial Saturday for the Stand Up For Humanity event.
The event, organized by Unity of Washington D.C., is a movement promoting and supporting a world that works for all and aims to achieve that by "embracing those qualities that serve the highest and best of our humanity."
People attending the event help up signs with messages of peace and unity, one sign specifically stating "We Are One People - #UniversalLove"
The event page states the "we are here to help each other connect and act from our universal and common good."
Stand Up For Humanity hopes to "raise the consciousness and vibrations on the planet," and says, "that even one small act taken by an individual can make a difference and contribute to the positive uplift of humanity."
