WASHINGTON — While the rain and snow was short lived, several areas to our north and west saw a healthy dose of accumulation.
Wind will pick up throughout the day with gusts over 25 mph. It will be blustery and chilly with high temperatures topping off in the low 40s.
The gusty wind should help dry up roads and sidewalks throughout the day, but any leftover moisture will refreeze overnight and create isolated patches of black ice by Wednesday morning.
Here are some of the biggest snow totals around the area as of 10:45 a.m.:
Grantsville, MD - 7.0"
Fort Ritchie, MD - 6.8"
Sabillasville, MD - 4.5"
Boonsboro, MD - 3.7"
Winchester, VA - 3.5"
Thurmont, MD - 2.8"
Berryville, VA - 1.8"
Damascus, MD - 1.6"
Frederick, MD - 1.0"
