Rene Syler Update
Dear Buddies,
Belated Happy Mother's Day greetings. I hope your day was truly special, spent in good health with loved ones.
Don't forget the most important thing you can do for yourself, in this month celebrating mothers, is to make your health a top priority.
Remember to do your monthly breast self exam; schedule an annual mammogram if you're over age 40; and see a doctor or nurse practitioner every year for a clinical breast exam.
It's O-K to put yourself first - so that you can be here to enjoy and care for your loved ones.
I want to update you on another "Buddy", former CBS Early Show anchor Rene Syler. As you know, Rene authored the book "Good Enough Mother" to rave reviews. She sent me this NY POST story about her book moving to new heights on the small screen.
-- Former "Early Show" co- anchor Rene Syler - who also authored "Good Enough Mother" - has inked a deal with Meredith Corp. to join Parents TV, where she'll adapt her book brand to the small screen. Beginning next month, Syler will host "It Moms" (first show: "Traveling With Your Kids"). The deal is a partnership between Parents TV and Syler's company, Goodenoughmother.com. Parents TV airs on Comcast (On Demand) and on parents.tv.--
We wish Rene the very best with her new television deal!!!!

Talk about taking lemons and turning them into lemonade. I like the rest of you was sad to see Rene leave the Early Morning anchor desk at CBS, but she is doing really great things as the "Good Enough Mommy."
You know who works in mysterious ways.

I can't believe how the press is making a big deal about the little girl's voice that was dubbed during the opening ceremony. Have you forgot that great movie roles had dubbed voices. Natalie Wood in West Side Story and Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady just to name a couple. Also about the fireworks display being done by computer graphics. This year the Town of Vienna VA used that because of the terrible accident last year that injured several people. The overall opening ceremony was truly magnificent - Anonymous

Good Morning,
I agree. The press coverage on this story may be a little too much. But this isn't quite the same as actresses, not known as singers, having their voices dubbed. First, we usually know that they are not the actual singers.
Two, this child, with the questionable teeth, was not dumped because she didn't have talent. She was dumped because she wasn't "attractive" enough to be the face of China to the rest of the world. They're both cute kids in different ways.
Amusing water cooler talk, but the world will survive:-)
Take care,
