  The New Newseum
I had the chance to walk around the Newseum last Friday with about five hundred of my closest friends. The Newseum now resides at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue, next to the Canadian Embassy and just down the street from the National Archives. This building will make your jaw drop. The Newseum is a magnificent tribute to our first amendment and to journalists all over the world. The experience is very interactive and is a building you could spend all day in and not get the least bit bored. It is a great place for the whole family of any ages. The exhibits might even make a child take an interest in history as so many historical benchmarks are commemorated. The F. W. Woolworth, for whites only, drug store counter where four black students sat down as asked for service on February 1, 1960, from Greensboro is in the museum. Pieces of the Berlin Wall are on display. The only place you could find more pieces of the Wall is in Germany ! The Newseum offers unparalleled access to pieces of history as well as it signature five hundred electronic front pages from newspapers all over the world. Can you eat there ? You betcha, will Chef Wolfgang Puck do ? You can choose between the restaurant or the food court, both are fantastic. The Newseum also hosts events and can accommodate hundreds of guests. The terrace offers a great view of the U.S. Capitol. You can purchase tickets on line.(http://www.newseum.org/)
