It's not your father's MVD anymore
Not to date myself but when I applied for a license I went to the MVD, Motor Vehicle Department. I remember one line for everything. You got to wait for an hour or three then you got to wait again after you were sent to the station particular to your needs. I was afraid to ask questions because no one was having any fun and it was doubtful anyone would actually answer your question.
Times have changed. The MVA, Motor Vehicle Administration is now efficient. You can ask someone questions as soon as you walk in so you end up in the correct line right away. The buildings are new, spacious and colorful. I think they had a ban on colors back in my day. It took awhile for my daughter to get her license, yes, she passed on the first attempt but the driving test was a scheduled appointment and the people that work there were helpful and much less dour. My hat's off to the MVA.
Recycling is not a Beach
We usually take a trip to the beach every year. It is great family time. Every year after about one half day we remark how much trash we are generating because there is no county wide or town wide recycling program for pick up at individual houses. I guess because of all the rentals in Rehoboth and Bethany officials feel a recycling plan would not work. I think it would be successful because everyone vacationing at the beach is used to recycling from home. A recycling program from Memorial Day to Labor Day would make a huge impact. Yes, we usually have two families at the beach and yes, eating becomes an Olympic sport but I would venture to guess that we would cut our trash removal in half if we recycled. It's funny how guilty you feel guilty about throwing bottles, plastic containers and newspaper in the trash. It's good to be back home.
