Chantilly, Va., Students Consumed Alcohol At School

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WUSA)  - Six students were discovered to have consumed alcohol Thursday at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School in Chantilly, Virginia, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The students apparently consumed the alcohol at the school just before the start of the school day.

The incident came to light after one of the students arrived in the school's clinic around 10 a.m. reporting illness. School personnel notified the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer who is assigned to the school.

The students, ages 12 to 14 , were identified and found to be in various states of intoxication, but none required immediate medical attention. The parents of all of the students involved in the incident were notified.

The matter remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer Unit.
