Video: Search For Montgomery County Missing Boater

Police say this green boat is the one the missing boater was using

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Emergency crews and police suspended their search for the night late Friday for a missing boater in the Tridelphia Reservoir in Montgomery County.

PHOTOS OF THE SEARCH

The man was in a green boat, inspecting the area for a deer hunt, officials said. He was supposed to be back by 2:00 p.m., but his boat washed ashore, without him in it.

The Washington Sewer and Sanitation Commission released a statement saying the boater is one of its employees.

"The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is searching for an employee that has been missing for several hours at the Triadelphia Watershed in Montgomery County. WSSC Police are coordinating with Maryland State Police and Fire and Rescue to search of several thousand heavily wooded acres," they said. "
The name of the employee is being withheld pending family notification. There are no further details available at this time"

Rescue boats and helicopters are searching the reservoir for the man, but the search has turned up empty.

We'll have more updates as they become available.
