Tractor Trailer Collision Backs Up Traffic On I-95

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- An accident involving three tractor trailers has caused a traffic snag for drivers heading south on I-95 in Woodbridge.

Virginia State Police officials tell 9 NEWS NOW the crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 just before Route 1 around 4 a.m. Friday. A tractor trailer and a box truck were slowed for an earlier ax when another tractor trailer came up behind them at speed.  The approaching tractor trailer hit the slowed tractor trailer, then ricocheted into the box truck.

The driver of the striking vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He's been charged with Reckless Driving. 

The driver of the box truck was taken to the hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries

The driver of the TT that was initially hit was uninjured.
