WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- Prince William County Police arrested a 33-year-old teacher at Beville Middle School for allegedly touching a 12-year-old student inappropriately at the school.
Police were called to the school Friday afternoon and, after an investigation, arrested Luchetti.
According to police, Lawrence Lucchetti, of the 5600 block of Derby Court in Alexandria, is charged with taking indecent liberties by a custodian and aggravated sexual battery.
Irene Cromer, spokesperson for Prince William County Schools, tells 9NEWS NOW Lucchetti was hired by the school system in 2002 and was first employed as a Social Studies teacher at Beville. In 2009, she says Lucchetti became a gifted educational resource teacher. Accordingt to Cromer, Lucchetti has about 150 students. He is currently on administrative leave without pay.
He's currently being held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 23.

In keeping with our ongoing commitment to communicate effectively with our school community, I am writing to inform you that Gifted Education Teacher, Larry Lucchetti, has been arrested on charges of alleged inappropriate behavior with a student.
While we are limited in what we can say during the police investigation of this matter, I can tell you that Mr. Lucchetti has been placed on administrative leave and will not be at school pending the outcome of this case. Please know that the safety of our students and staff at Beville Middle School is our highest priority.
