ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- A police officer was arrested in connection to a case involving the "fraudulent sale" of motor vehicles, police said.
Angel Roa, a four-year veteran of the Alexandria Police force, is charged with "obtaining money by fraud or false pretenses," according to a news release by the Alexandria Police Department.
Roa was arrested by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, after an investigation about the fraudulent sale of cars, police said.
"Officer Roa is entitled to due process, however, I want to assure residents that the Alexandria Police does not tolerate criminal or other inappropriate behavior of any kind from its employees," said Alexandria Police Chief Earl Cook.
Roa has been placed on administrative leave, without pay, pending the outcome of an administrative investigation, officials said.
