HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — A tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 70 in Howard County, Md. is causing several delays in the area Tuesday morning, according to Maryland State Police.
The tractor-trailer fire happened around 1:26 a.m. on eastbound I-70 at West Watersville Road, police said. The fire was caused by some kind of mechanical issue.
MSP said the fire started under the trailer and spread to the rest of the truck.
Luckily, the driver was able to escape the flames. There were no other injuries reported.
It is unknown if any other vehicles were impacted by the truck fire.
As of 7:30 a.m., only two left lanes are getting by as crews work to clean up the debris caused by the fire.
SKY9 was over the scene and the traffic back up was seen for a few miles.
