WASHINGTON (WUSA9)--As most of you know, sports betting will soon be legal all over the United States, not just in Vegas.

But for now, the only place you can place a sports bet is still Vegas.

So what are the Caps' odds according to Sin City?

Before I give that away, let's take a look at both teams in the post season this year.

Capitals

The Caps have gone 12-5 since defeating one of their biggest rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Since making it to the Eastern Conference to face the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Caps are 4-0 on the road, which should surely make the Vegas Golden Knights a little nervous these first two games in Vegas.

The Caps are also second in goals per game in the playoffs, with postseason scoring leaders Evgeny Kuznetsov (11 goals) and Alex Ovechkin (12 goals).

Furthermore, the Capitals own the second-best power play of the playoffs and lead all teams with 17 goals on the man advantage.

If you're a Caps' fan, I can see why you are confident heading to the finals.

But the Golden Knights aren't too bad on paper either.

Golden Knights

The Golden Knights are undoubtedly the most successful expansion team in the history of the NHL.

In the Western Conference playoffs, Vegas has loss only three games out of 15 to reach the Stanley Cup Finals.

In addition to having this amazing run in the playoffs, the Golden Knights have what some are calling, the best line in the playoffs with Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith and William Karlsson.

Vegas' top six forwards have accounted for 29 of 41 playoff goals.

It's also good to note that the Golden Knights have killed 82.5 percent of opposing power plays.

This team most likely has everything that it takes to win the Stanley Cup Finals.

Although, the odds aren't 100% sure.

Vegas oddsmakers opened the Golden Knights as a slight, -135 favorite for the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Caps are a narrow, +115 underdog.

To put it in percentages, Vegas has a 57% chance to claim a title and Washington a 43% chance.

When taking a second look at the matchup, the Golden Knights have the advantage of having a bit more rest, for winning four games to one, over the Winnipeg Jets on May 20.

The Capitals had to battle through seven hard-fought contests—ending on May 23—to defeat Tampa Bay.

So if you're betting money, your safest bet would be to go with the Golden Knights.

But because the Caps aren't a huge underdog, you could win big if you place a bet on the Caps to win it in 4 games.
