ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of social media threats made to several high schools in the county, including Great Mills High School.
The reports come just one year after a gunman shot and killed 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey in the hallway of her high school.
Officials said they began their investigation on Tuesday after threats of mass violence began circulating on social media and through text messages related to the tragic shooting on March 20, 2018.
"After an extensive investigation, no sustained or credible threats were identified," deputies said.
