'Voices in Motion' give sneak peek of upcoming performances

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts Show Choir gives WUSA9 a preview of its upcoming production.

WASHINGTON -- Looking for a perfect way to kick-off the holiday season? A special production is just two weeks away at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts' newly renovated theater.

The school's national award-winning show choir, 'Voices in Motion,' will continue its long-standing tradition of the production 'Amahl and the Night Visitors.' This production is full of beautiful music and dance followed by a heartwarming showcase of 'A Motown Christmas.'

Duke Ellington's Show Choir has performed for audiences all over the world.

On Sunday, the group of 23 and Director Dr. Monique Spells, stopped by the WUSA9 studio to give morning viewers a sneak peek of the several songs.

The show is about a crippled boy and his widowed mother who get a visit from three kings while en route to see the newborn child, according to Dr. Spells. A Motown Christmas is a mix of oldies and goodies. The show is for people of all ages.

The show dates and times are:

Friday, December 7 & 14, 2018 at7:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 8 & 15, 2018 at7:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 4 p.m.
