Trash chute fire displaces residents at Md. apartments

Officials say some apartments are not habitable.

WHITE OAK, MD (WUSA9) — A trash chute fire at an apartment complex in White Oak, Md. caused residents to be displaced on Monday night.

The fire occurred at the Enclave Apartments around 10 p.m.

Fire officials say between 20 and 40 apartment will be damaged by water and residents will likely be displaced. Officials say some apartments are not habitable.

A shelter has been opened at White Oak Rec Center.
