Police cruisers catch fire at Prince George's County department headquarters

Investigators do not suspect foul play.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Two Prince George's County Police Department cruiser caught on fire in the parking garage at the department's headquarters early Thursday. Investigators are still working to figure out exactly what happened.

A spokesperson for the fire department said they were dispatched to the 8800 block of Police Plaza in Upper Marlboro for a report of two cars on fire. Crews arrived to find two cars parked next to each other on the first floor of the garage. 

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the police department told WUSA9 that no foul play or suspicious activity is suspected in relation to the cruiser fires, but the cause remains under investigation.
