SILVER SPRING, Md. — Six vehicles were damaged when a car caught fire in a Silver Spring parking garage Monday evening.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer, the car caught fire while in Parking Garage 61, located at 801 Ellsworth Drive near Fenton Street.
The vehicle fire spread to five other cars, wrecking six in total leaving owners with around $80,000 in damages. The parking garage was evacuated during the fire and no injuries were reported.
The fire, which happened on the fifth level of the parking garage, has since been extinguished.
There is no word on what may have caused the fire to spark at this time but Piringer says investigators believe it was accidental.
