Man accused of training pit bull to dog fight with small puppy as bait

Detectives found videos on the man's social media account of a small white mixed-breed puppy being attacked by a young pit bull.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — A man was arrested and charged in relation to an animal cruelty case in Severn, Md. 

Detectives from the Narcotics and Special Investigations Section's Vice Unit received information regarding Kyle Murray and his potential involvement in animal cruelty and dog fighting activity, according to a press release. 

Detectives located a video on Murray's social media account showing a young pit bull attacking a small, white, mixed-breed puppy. 

Other videos on Murray's account showed the pit bull being "trained" in a manor that correlated with methods used for dog fighting, the release said.

A detective contacted Murray through social media in an undercover capacity about setting up a dog fight. Detectives also confirmed the video was registered to Murray. 

A search warrant for Murray's address was obtained, and was executed April 9. Murray and the pit bull were located in the residence, however the location of the white puppy is unknown, the release said. 

Murray's charges included two counts of animal cruelty, aggravated cruelty to animal, animal cruelty - dog fighting, posses/train dog for dog fight, the release said.
