5 injured in officer-involved car crash in Prince George's County

Two adults, including a Prince George's County officer, and three children were injured in the crash.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Five people were injured in a car crash involving a Prince George's County police cruiser and another vehicle Sunday, the Prince George's County Fire Department said.

The crash happened around 5:09 p.m. Sunday in the area of Marlboro Pike and Aztec Drive. Authorities said the officer was responding to a call for a shooting when collided with another vehicle.

The police officer with minor injuries were taken to a local hospital. Three children and one adult in the other vehicle were also transported with minor injuries. 

Prince George's County police are handling the investigation.
