All public schools in West Virginia's 55 counties will be closed on Thursday, March 1, according to West Virginia Department of Education.
On Tuesday, Governor Jim Justice announced a plan to give striking teachers a five percent raise. He said teachers would be back in class Thursday.
Around 10:50 p.m., all the counties were scheduled to be closed on Thursday.
What's the hold-up? That pay raise needs approval from state lawmakers.
On Wednesday, the House of Delegates passed it. But the Senate adjourned without a vote.
