16-year-old boy killed Friday, police search for vehicle of interest

Police said a nearby surveillance camera captured the car driving in the area around the time of the homicide

WASHINGTON -- DC police are searching for a vehicle of interest after a 16-year-old was shot and killed Friday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, officials were called to the 700 block of Princeton Place, Northwest for reports of a shooting.

Police said 16-year-old Breon Austin was found inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

The teen was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A nearby surveillance camera captured a gray, four door vehicle in the area of the scene. The car has a sunroof and stickers on the drivers side of the vehicle.

Police have not cited a motive in the shooting.
